2. First melody

In this tutorial, we'll cover how to compose a simple melody using GrooveCloud.

Download, install and register an account on GrooveCloud. Create a new song using the 'new' button. If you create a 'public' song, it will be viewable, playable and editable by anyone out there. Conversely, you might create a 'private' song and invite just your friends to interact with it. On the Song parameters, choose STYLE-> EMPTY.

Tap "Create" to start the new song. You'll land to the Pattern Editor. To start playback, hit "play" on the top-right. On the bottom-left button touch DRUMS->TYPE->INSTR, to select the INTRUMENT mode for this part.

To compose a small melody, tap on the grid to insert notes.

To fine-tune a note, long-touch on it. You can have per-note settings of the following parameters: envelope, note length, filter frequencies and resonance.

Now you can choose a sound for your part. To do so, tap one of the left buttons and choose a bank / sound.

You can now change the part synthesis parameters using the bottom left button and selecting "FILTER" or "ADSR".  You can also change the musical mode (eg: MINOR, MAJOR, LYDIAN, LOCRIAN...) selecting MODE. Your melody will be instantly mapped to the new mode.

You can change the length of the pattern using the top-left button-> length. Swipe horizontally to navigate the pattern in its length.
